What you’ll need:
Pasta: You can use any kind of pasta you like, and any form will do.
Among the options are farfalle, penne, campanelle, rigatoni, cavatappi, and fusilli.
Additionally, you can use vegan or gluten-free pasta.
Seasonings: Paprika, cumin, turmeric, chili powder, garlic powder, and onion powder. Any season you like really.
Olive oil: For air frying or oven baking. We recommend olive oil, however, feel free to use the oil of your choice.
Parmesan (optional): Adds a great cheesy flavor.
Ingredients :
2 cups of cooked pasta
1 Tbsp olive oil
½ tsp of each one of the following: onion powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin, turmeric, black pepper, chili powder
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
A jar of Simon Foods TOUM
Step-by-step:
- Using a large pot, boil the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, and then drain. Do not overcook the pasta, they could break apart while seasoning.
2. Toss pasta with olive oil, the seasonings and the parmesan.
3. Oven bake or air fry them.
AIR FRYER:
Air fry for 12-15 minutes or until golden and crispy, shaking the basket a couple of times.
OVEN BAKED:
Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lay the pasta on a single layer when baking. Do not allow them to overlay each other. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until they’re deep-golden brown.
4. Remove from the air fryer and let it cool. They will crisp up a bit more after they cool.
5. Dip in our delicious TOUM, eat, and repeat!
These pasta chips are best enjoyed immediately after being made as they may lose their crispiness.
Storage:
For best results, make sure leftovers are completely cool before storing them To maintain crispness, store them in an airtight container or resealable bags.
They will hold up well for up to 5 days. There might not be any leftovers; they are irresistibly good.
Can I use leftover pasta instead of fresh pasta?
Yes, you can. However, fresh pasta will turn out better than overcooked pasta.
Are Pasta Chips Hard?
No, although they are crispy, these chips are not hard.
Are Pasta Chips healthy?
Yes, if baked in the oven or air-fried, spaghetti chips can be healthy. However, because they are still chips, enjoy them in moderation as it is very simple to eat more than one serving of pasta as chips.
What can I do to make them more crispy?
You might need to air fry or bake them a bit longer. Make sure to shake or toss them after taking them out of the oven or air fryer, and wait until they have cooled before snacking.
